She was outed before she was ready (thanks Finn), she lost one of the people she’s looked up to and been closest to for her whole life, and the talks and looks that she feared would be behind her back got thrown right in her face.

The Santana we used to know would’ve gone scurrying back into the closet, searching for another hookup with a boy she didn’t even like or care for, just to maintain the image that was the very opposite of who she was.

But the Santana we see now? She doesn’t do that. She doesn’t back down.

She does it all for this girl here, Brittany, who has held her hand the entire way and sat by her side through the worst of it all. She does it for herself, because she’s so damn tired of lying to herself and to everybody around her. She doesn’t need their damn approval anymore. She can be the top bitch, she can be herself, AND she can finally have her girl. And she will fight for her right to kiss her girlfriend in public, no matter what people think.

This is Santana fucking Lopez, guys. Whatever flaws all of the haters want to throw at her, whatever shit they want to throw at us for supporting her, they need to see this and think about this. She’s come so far and deserves all the fucking awards.
